A 2nd line documentary fraud training session, organized by the Prometheus Project, was held from July 19 to 22 at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tbilisi.
A very experienced Spanish expert, Mr. Juan Pablo Valiente, inspector and deputy head of the document fraud office of the UCRIF (Spanish National Police), came from Madrid to conduct this four-day course which included several practical exercises.
15 Patrol Police officers successfully and seriously attended this training. Five of the trainees came from the Tbilisi International Airport police services while the 10 others came from the land borders: 5 from Dariali (border checkpoint with Russia), 3 from Sadakhlo (border checkpoint with Armenia) and 2 from Tsiteli Khidi (“ Red Bridge “in Georgian, border checkpoint with Azerbaijan).
Mr. Valiente will return to Tbilisi in mid-September for another training session on document fraud. Two additional training sessions of this training course will also be held in September, in Kutaisi, and will be conducted by an expert from the Latvian State Border Guard.
