EU Action against Organised Crime and Terrorism
“The EU Action against Organised Crime and Terrorism (EU-ACT) is implemented by a consortium of EU Member States led by Spain (FIAP - Foundation for the Internationalisation of Public Administrations) in partnership with Italy (Arma dei Carabinieri) and France (CIVIPOL). The Action proposes to prioritise the fight against organised crime and terrorism in support of the EU Security Union Strategy 2020-2025. In particular, it focuses on the development of police and judicial capacities in the Middle East, East Africa and Central Asia in order to strengthen partners' capacity to fight against illicit trafficking, organised crime, terrorism and violent extremism, as defined in the Thematic Programme on Peace, Stability and Conflict Prevention 2021 - 2027. The Action builds on the achievements of the EU-funded programmes EU-ACT 1 (2017-2021) and LEICA (2020-2024) and offers the synergies of a one-stop technical assistance facility. All components are framed in the context of SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies based on human rights and the rule of law. To implement the Action's activities in the Central Asia and neighbouring countries, CIVIPOL has established a Representative Office in Uzbekistan.”
